I see they have finally decided to change the xbmc name. Makes sense really as it does not collate to any xbox's apart of course from the original.
Don't mind the new name of Kodi.

Certainly it's a "tolerate it" or "hate it" situation with the new name. I don't think anyone has yet said "love it!".

But in this context it doesn't mean anything, which is kinda the point when you are looking for a trademarkable name!

i think its a good move...the number of times ive said "oh you should use XBMC, it's great" the first thing they ask is " what does xbmc stand for??" and then you go through this convoluted explanation about x box and they say "but I dont have an xbox" etc etc etc.

I still have an XBOX with XBMC loaded. Can't handle newer files though. A chromecast probably has more power lol. Funnily enough I play Nintendo 64 heaps more than Xbox :p

I like telling the story behind XBMC. I just thought the story to be so cool. Actually just got used to calling it XBMC pretty recently after I referred to it instinctively as Xbox Media Center.

anyone else having issues with Gotham release? i reckon its the worst so far...feckin weather doesnt work. library seems glitchy and the artist thumnails seem to be patchy (lots of generic thumnails) ..keeps crashing/locking up when i exit to windows...not liking it so far compared to old releases which "just worked"

No issues with Gotham here, loving 3D support and other changes that I've probably forgotten now. Weather is better than ever IMHO. Great skins.

Have to say though I don't use it for music, but I believe the key is to have good tagging in your music files.

I don't like having to have the TV on to liste nto music, nor do I like everyone staring at screen visualisations when it plays. Music is more social than that for me, or else it is background while I cook or work. I don't want anything other than the track/artist.

Anyway thats enough music rant, join forum.xbmc.org and post questions if you're having a problem, see you there.
