Hi, once again I am sorry for filling up this forum with my questions, I am quite new to HTPC's as a hobby and am in no way a computer programming genius! I have been reading Readme for EPG collector and am having issues trying to create a file for Windows Task Scheduler. I have created this in notepad. If I run this in CMD it starts but fails as wrong configuration.

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Geekzone\EPG Collector\EPGCollector.exe"/ini="C:\Users\Home Media PC\AppData\Local\Geekzone\EPG Collector.ini"

I tried to link "C:\Program Files (x86)\Geekzone\EPG Collector\EPGCollector.exe" directly to the actions tab in the Scheduler. This fails with code 0x2. If I try to run the task it flashes the collection window but it does not run. If I click directly on the exe the file runs perfectly.

It may be because I'm am a nubie and don't really know what I am doing. Thank you for your patience.

Regards Alastair

I always thought the ox2 was permissions. In the details do you have it set to always run the task even if I'm not logged on?

I tend to put the commands in a batch file (give te options of doing other things and doing logging as well.

From a quick scan of "readme 4.1.txt", your easiest path is likely to be running the EPG Centre which you should be able to run.

2.2.2 Running standalone collections
====================================

Once the collection parameters have been created the collection process can be run. This can be initiated from EPG Centre, from the
command line or from a command file. All 3 methods run the same program, EPG Collector.exe.

The batch file would just have the full path to eph collector and the arguments.

Use notepad to write it.

You'll need to get your head around things like this fairly quickly for an htpc. Unlike a my sky they take so e looking after.

Yes very true, they are certainty more of a hobby than a possession! I don't really understand batch files and arguments as of yet. I tried entering the path I posted above as a command line and it starts to run but fails with the error in the log "cannot find ini file". Nothing like a challenge though, i love my htpc and this is the last piece of the puzzle....for now
