Hi

I have been asked to find a suitable projector for our school hall.  I would like something that can either connect to our existing wifi network and allow users to project wirelessly or alternatively connect to wired lan and allow projection over that.  I don't want a projector that creates it's own wifi network and requires users to connect to that.
I guess I would want 5000+ lumins?
Any suggestions for a suitable unit?

Thanks
Bluey

Take a look at PB Tech.
Not sure how a Network projector will work with a domain and a large scale network.

Cheers

Is network projection a must? Otherwise you could look at using HDMI over Ethernet modulators.

Wireless options in a school hall (Going back a few years now to my old schools wireless projector in the hall) dont work correctly, having 1000+ students in the hall, all with smart phones doing various things on the 2.4Ghz range they quick start grinding the wireless network to a complete halt making reliable streaming impossible.

If you do go for a wireless option make sure you lock it down!!, When the projectors wireless at my old school was usable there would often be a student who would mid assembley take control of the projector and start broadcasting something of their own (I'll leave it up to your imagination to figure out what was broadcasted in a school assembley in a school of 1000 boys!!).

Network projectors fit quite nicely on large AD networks, We had a few of them around uni.

Do you have any idea of what brand they were?
I know Epson do a range of Networkable (ethernet+wifi) projectors, but do the other brands have similar products?

Network projection is not a must but I thought it would allow users to project from different places in the hall.  The projector could have a wired lan connection which should still allow wifi or wired laptops to connect (probably more reliable).

Love the story about the student taking over the projector :)

The newest ones were Epsoms IIRC
