Hi guys,

My old computer bit the dust, so I have removed the Blu-Ray drive hoping I can still get some use out of it..

Blu-Ray Drive

Can anyone please direct me to what cables I would need to turn this into an external drive? (my new laptop already has Blu-Ray, but I thought I could give this to my dad or sister).  It would need to be coverted to USB3.0 as their computers do not have esata input.

Would a cable like this do it? http://www.trademe.co.nz/computers/cables-adaptors/usb/auction-766828437.htm

Thanks so much for any help.

You will need a SlimlineSATA to USB adapter. The one you've linked is standard SATA to USB, which won't be suitable. Something like http://www.fishpond.co.nz/Electronics/USB-20-to-76-13Pin-Slimline-SATA-Laptop-CDDVD-Rom-Optical-Drive-Adapter-Cable-Black/0095225900761 is more like it.
