Just a heads up

On September 29, 2014 we’ll be making some changes to our Plex Pass subscription rates for new subscribers:

  • Monthly Plex Pass subscriptions will increase from $3.99 to
    $4.99 per month.
  • Annual Plex Pass subscriptions will increase from $29.99 to
    $39.99 per year.
  • Lifetime Plex Passes will increase from $74.99 to

So if you thought about getting a plex pass, grab it now.  I just got the lifetime.

Is PlexPass worth it?
I use Plex from a Samsung TV (PlexServer installed on a PC).
Just wondering what the PlexPass would offer that I might want? $75 for a lifetime pass seems good.

It gets you free copies of the android apps.

You get access to new features a lot sooner, and some features will only be available to plex pass subscribers, which so far include
- Camera Upload, sync photos from phone or tablet to your plex pass library
- Plex Sync/Clound Sync, sync media to cloud services like dropbox etc so can view from anywhere (though on a ADSL connection this is pretty much useless as it takes too long to upload)
Trailers & Extras - trailers/extras for movies, haven't tried this myself yet
Free Apps, android and roku currently
- MultiUser Control, this could be pretty cool....

That may not be worth it for everyone, but those features will likely increase (trailers and extras is new) and if you wait the lifetime subsription will double in price.

For me, its service/app I use every day, $75 to support it I'm more than happy to pay.

I was paying for 3 or 4 months of monthly pass, and paid for Lifetime pass last month.
