anyone have experience with the newer network amps?
looking at an onkyo maybe with 2-3 zones....

just wondering how good the networking actually is? E.G can you play music from any PC or does it require an app or is the network only for internet radio and limited useablility??

Almost all network amps are DLNA based, so you can stream audio from your PC / Mac if you enable DLNA via software on your computer.
The ability to handle different audio specs / formats will differ brand to brand.
If your phone/tablet has a DLNA server app. then you'll be able to stream from this... sometimes it's built into the amp manufacturers own app., other times you may need a 3rd party app.
Some receivers also have Spotify / Pandora / Airplay support built in.
