Hey guys,

So I have a home theatre system that I have hooked up to my computer, and now I want to connect it to my PS4 too- as they share the same TV. (yeah im using my TV as my monitor lol)

I did a bit of googling, and found out that optical cable would be the best option for me.

This is what my receiver looks line from the back. I noticed it was different from what I saw on the net and was wondering if this would get the job done if I connected it with my PS4.

Thanks in advance guys!

Either input is fine.

Probably worth investing in an AVR that has HDMI input/output so you don't have to run two cables per device for video/sound

what are you going to play on the ps4 ?

if you are playing material with lossless audio (buray or digital files with dolby true-hd or dts master audio) you need an hdmi connection, optical digital won't pass the lossless form but will downgrade it to the dolby digital or dts core.
