ok so XBMC is setup to launch with F9 hot  key and my logitech remote is programmed to send F9 when xbmc activity is selected...easy. worked like a charm.

but a few weeks ago it stopped working. f9 on the remote and on the keyboard do not launch xbmc even after checking the shortcut properties for the program....what am i doing wrong???

xbmc is in c/programs/xbmc and hasnt moved...so why does ths hotkey not work??

any ideas??

oh great so i restarted my pc and now EVERY time i launch xbmc it asks for a user account permission.....seriously!!! this is the THIRD time xbmc has done this and the only cure was a clean reinstall...GRRRRRR stupid stupid stupid gotham release.

Have you checked what UAC permissions you have set? What about folder permissions? There are a number of resources for XBMC in the App Data folder (which is hidden by default) which might have some strange permissions being set.

the thing is i havent changed any settings at all. i only noticed it when i went to start xbmc and the remote didnt work, so starting it with the desktop icon now brings up the UAC prompt every time....i have to turn UAC completely off to stop it from doing this.... very weird
