Hi im just wanting to find out how far you can run a RG59 cable carrying a basband signal ie. AV out of sky Decoder How far can the signal travel before it wont work. Does anyone know what the baseband Signal frequency is??? Audio im sure will be fine im just not to sure about video. im only talking about 30 to 50 Meters.

Normally in video applications once you start pushing over 30meters you normally deploy an equaliser to fix cable losses/slope. That said for most domestic applications you should not have a problem, but are starting to push things.

SD video bandwidth is normally rated around 5-6MHz.

I have about 80 meters of composite, but its using cctv (solid copper) rg6 cable, not 59... but the pic seems sweet as at the end of it.
