Hi,

I've got an Epson EH-TW3200 projector and for Christmas I'm getting a projector screen. I was eyeing up this one:

Which has the advantage of fitting in the room and having a (claimed) 1.3 gain.

None of the screens I can find on TM seem to have a 12v trigger, which is a bit of a pain, as I'd love to be able to hit a single button on my universal remote and have everything kick into action.

The projector will be about 4.2m from the screen which seems to fit with the throw ratio calculations.

Any thoughts or advice?

Spend a lot more money on the projector screen than that would be my advice. I bought a 100" DAlite screen (with remote and 12V trigger) and the edges were SLIGHTLY curled so I bought a 120 inch tensioned cheapo ($390) about a year later. The screen material on a good screen utterly trumps everything. I onsold the bigger, flatter screen and went back to the dalite. Love it.

This phrase in particular causes me concern "Easy to clean matt surface: wipe with damp cloth"

Almost seems to be code for "PVC" ... It might not be, but I guarantee you that a secondhand good quality screen will be better than one of the new cheapos. The big thing I found was that there was clear light reflection form the scheap screen while my good screen really was diffuse enough to NOT be able to see a brighter spot when looking back at the incident angle of the projector.

Buy a Silver Ticket screen from Amazon (YouShop). It's cheap and the quality is great. There are various screen sizes available on Amazon for this. It is not electric though (which tbh is a good thing if you are serious about your AV stuff (no curls, better quality material etc usually))

Thanks for that. I'm kind of stuck with a dropdown screen as I can't put a full-time screen into the room. In that context, is there a problem with an electric screen? I'd assume that all the roller screens have the same potential for not being flat?
