Hi,

My Sky box has a VCR SCART In channel. I was wondering if I could use this connection for my DVD recorder, with a single scart cable, like so ...........

For playback
DVDR (out signal =RGB) > Sky VCR SCART In (in signal =RGB???) [VCR SCART In channel selected] > TV (in=RGB)

For recording
Sky VCR SCART (out signal =S-Video) [some Sky channel selected] > DVDR (in signal =s-video)

Note : the complication is that my DVDR will only take s-video IN on AV2 and my TV only has one SCART input, which takes only Composite and RGB. The RGB looks very.

When you put the sky box into standby or press the TV button on the remote all the composite in and RGB channels are routed to the TV SCART. Thus all 4channels are passed on from your DVR to the TV bypassing the Sky boxs internal decoder output. Obviously if you were to feed Component from your DVR to the VCR SCART and have the Sky box configured to output Component then then Component would be passed through to the component input of your TV.

Thanks Cyril,

Considering your reply, and also thinking about my problem more I have come to the conclusion that my master plan is flawed.
Thus I'm back to square one.
Thus I've started another thread.
