Does anyone have one of these BOSE soundlink bluetooth speakers? http://www.bose.com/controller?url=/shop_online/digital_music_systems/bluetooth_speakers/soundlink_mini/index.jsp
I am considering getting one as they seem to have consistently good feedback regarding the sound quality...
I have visited JB HiFi and had a play with the demo unit. (The demo unit drops the Bluetooth connection to my phone, and select AUX, after a couple of minutes, but I assume it is set up to do this in the shop automatically for demo purposes. (although there is no mention that the demo unit operates differently to the unit one actually purchases). The sound quality is suburb.
I have also read the owners manual online, but I still have a question that I need answered...
The manual indicates that after 30 minutes without audio, the unit will shut down. This seems a sensible function to preserve the battery, however, I will most likely use it mostly in the docked position, connected to the mains power. What I want to know is...
...is this still the case if the unit is docked to the charger?
My intention is to leave the unit docked & charging, on a table on the far side on the bedroom, and I want to be able to play music / Internet radio from my Samsung phone without having to get up and out of bed each and every time in the morning, just to turn the unit on.
Can anyone confirm that with the speaker docked, that it is NOT necessary to actually physically press buttons on the unit to start the bluetooth connection and play music?
With my current $40 bluetooth speaker, I can connect to it anytime without having to actually touch the speaker buttons at all. This is want I want to be able to do with the BOSE unit.
