Can anyone with a LG smart TV confirm if Netflix and Plex apps are able to be used in NZ? Looking at the 4K LG smart TV from NL on boxing day but want to make sure these apps are available, otherwise I'll probably go for a Samsung or Sony TV.

Thanks.

Netflix isn't and they wouldn't confirm if it was coming or not on their facebook page. The plex app isn't there on the 2013 tv's but it will play DLNA media.

Ok thanks, looks like Sony TVs don't have plex either so I guess Samsung is the go as I mostly use my tv for Plex and the occasional Netflix.

This 48" from JBhifi looks like good deal http://www.jbhifi.co.nz/tv-lcd-led-plasma/samsung/48-inch-full-hd-smart-led-lcd-tv-sku-270379/

I received a new Samsung 48" LED tv this year.  Despite all my efforts, never got to get the Netflix apps on it.  I could even change the country code, locked to AU/NZ.
Ended up getting a Amazon Fire Tv, which is excellent.

if you want plex built in, samsung is really your only option.  i just bought a cheap ($430) 32" smart samsung 2014 tv for my son for xmas so he could have plex/netflix.

LG have "medialink" but thats no where near as good as the samsung plex app.    still waiting on android tv to become popular, then well have more options for plex + netflix.

Can anyone comment on Panasonic TVs? I'm now thinking perhaps I'll get a non-smart TV with a PS4 as a Plex app has just been released for it.

I was looking at this http://www.harveynorman.co.nz/tv-and-audio/televisions/led-lcd-televisions/panasonic-50-full-hd-led-lcd-tv-en.html

For the record, you can access the Plex App on Sony TV's via the Opera TV store.
It takes a little more button clicking to achieve, but it does work.
