Feeling of de ja vous, but here goes.
My MediaPortal session has "no data" for ITV HD file (along with a handful of other channels). Looks like I'm collecting the data when using EPGC but loading into MP (via XMLTV plugin) results in error "tvguide.xml: Invalid XML file: An item with the same key...". I'm sure I've had this before but can't find my related post but pretty sure this problem bounced between this and the MP portal for a while. Tried deleting my TVGuide.xml and starting from scratch, and also tried using my combined and split EPGC collections for OpenTV & FreeSat but same problem every time.

If required I'll create a similar post in the MP forum - please advise.
Links to various logs available below:
TVService.log (MP)
TVGuide.xml (EPGC)
EPG Collector.log (EPGC)

Thanks

Quick update...
Rebooted my PC, restarted MP's TV Server and re-imported same tvguide.xml (via same XMLTV plug-in) and no longer have error "tvguide.xml: Invalid XML file: An item with the same key..." visible in the MP TV Server Config tool. i.e. It now says "tvguide.xml: File imported successfully". However, still no EPGC data for ITV HD available in the TV listings in MP, but can find EPGC extracted data in the tvguide.xml file. Something very strange going on here so'll try something else that doesn't involve the merging of files during the FreeSat/OpenTV EPGC data collections. i.e. I'll try the following...

  1. Collect Freesat seperately.
  2. Allow auto-loading into MP using XMLTV plug-in.
  3. Wait a few hours.
  4. Collect OpenTV seperately.
  5. Allow auto-loading into MP using XMLTV plug-in.

Let you know if this works.

Sorry, I meant to reply to your other post but Christmas got in the way.

You can't use the 'collect then collect/merge' method because when you run the second collection the channels may not be merged correctly if the names do not match exactly.

I think that's why you get duplicate key reported by MP and also answers your question from the other post about why the xml file is so much bigger.

The individual collections you list above will work. I don't know if you need to wait a few hours. I would have thought that once the xmltv plugin had finished you could run the second collection.

Incidentally I still come back to the fact that you should be able to collect FreeSat and OpenTV in the same collection if you use v4.2 with FP2. This issue was fixed in the first fixpack for V4.2.

Thanks SJB.
I did try the combined (same collection) but don't think it fixed the problem. ...which now seems to be consistently completing with exit code 0 thank goodness. I'll go with your advice and return to the same collection approach and give it a few "runs" and reboots to confirm if the problems been fixed or not. Trying out my steps 1-5 in my previous post left me with a successful load into MP (as in no duplicate key errors) but still no ITV HD EPG info visible despite actually having channel info in my EPGC collection files.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Maybe you hadn't applied the fixpacks before.

Didn't work! The combined/same collection bit seemed to work okay. ...but can't find the log as it was run from within a windows task. At least it began by capturing data and the ITV HD extracted 6% and have quite a few program entires in my tvguide.xml for channel="21000" (for ITV HD). ...but the MP import failed again with error "tvguide.xml: Invalid XML file: An item with the same key...". I'll hunt down the MP forum post I created a month or so back and get them to investigate the MP side of things. I've updated the tvguide.xml file link just in case it's any use for you to checkout from the EPGC side of things.
I guess it's a problem with the MP channel database but very strange that it's only affecting one channel, as far as I can tell.
Be in touch...

Don't bother with the upload - got it from your MP post.

I can't see any duplicate channels in that file.
