Well I have installed Kodi stable release and overall very pleased with it.

In another thread which is locked ,  I asked if anyone knew whether the XBMCIntegration would work with it.  Wont mention names but someone was quite rude and saying what planet am I on.

Well I can now answer the question for those who like to use WMC XBMCintegration.  It does not work with Kodi.

So XBMCintegration will have to be rewritten to work with Kodi which means I will have to stay with xbmc 13 on the htpc for mum as it is easy for her to turn on computer which boots to wmc and she just uses remote to select.  Any other way is too confusing for her

have you just tried creating installing kodi to the old xbmc path and renaming the exe to xbmc.exe ?  the launcher is probably just looking in that one path for the url, or possibly the register for an install location of xbmc.

I am not there at moment and uninstalled it.  But it gave a heap of errors.  It appeared as though every instance of xbmc would need to be changed to kodi.  I wasnt going to try and find and edit for what would be hours for me. So went back to xbmc 13 gotham

Can always hope an updated integration will be out one day

A lot of people are having problems with Kodi and it crashing all the time. I upgraded from Gotham 13.2 and had nothing but problems.
I did a fresh install and after a few hours use had nothing but crash after crash. I had to drop the skin I was using (Rapier) as Kodi did not agree with the skin-widget addon and it also has problems with the webserver.

I have it now on 2 machines. A windows 7 and a Windows 8.1 with kodi wmc integration and all works well.  Both machines boot to WMC and use remote to select. Just using standard skin.  So far been rock solid
