Its interesting watching the new channels being added to freeview...

Current line up:

1 TV ONE
2 TV2
3 TV3
4 C4
5 Maori TV
21 TVNZ Sports Extra
21 Stratos
22 Reserved 4K

- Stratos, a christian channel, was just added the other day
- Reserved 4K, Just on today, I dont know what that is going to be???

I'm guessing its could be that TVNZ family orientated channel they have been planning?

And wasnt there going to be a TVNZ 24 hour news channel?
And what about the regional channel, I'm not receiving a Wellington channel, is anyone else, is there one?

Stratos isn't a christian channel. See http://stratostv.co.nz/ for details.

The Reserved channels are just being used for testing at the moment.

Also TVNZ6 launches on 30th September.

Hi, For anyone who might be interested, Parliament TV starts on the 9th Oct. though Sky/Telstraclear were not in the press release. I would like to see it on Sky.

I aim to misbehave.

Shame about the errors

Vibe is a SkyTV only channel, and won't be on freeview.

Alt TV have plans for DTT but not DTH.

openmedia, I see you have edited and updated Wiki to correspond with what you just said, where did you source that information?

Update:
Forget it, I've just checked out your website to see this is your specialty/business.

Cheers for the information.

I was really surprised to see Vibe on the Wikipedia freeview page. Don't know where someone picked that rumour up from.

The Parliament TV details were only confirmed yesterday, athough we did see a test signal earlier in the week.

Great, "Triangle" is coming to Freeview. I'll be able to watch Deutsche Welle stuff again.

As for the rest, i'm not fussed. Parliament TV might be interesting if something good is going on in the House.

Hi, just had a reply from Sky, they will not be adding Parliament TV, makes me laugh as The speaker of the house, said it will be great to allow Parliament into all homes from 9th Oct. In other words, she believes that there is only upto 44000 home in NZ.....Undecided

I aim to misbehave.

I'm assuming you are talking about the DTT tests. Might not happen until next year. Launch isn't until March.

It's strange, I have 4 reserved channels in our lineup. Also, with stratos, I have perfect video, but only the occasional part-word of audio coming thru. (eg, when someone is talking, about every third word they say a little "ablnhiud" comes thru)

And why 2 maori channels? The one they've got no one watches anyway (well, except when the have a Billy T doco on, like they did today!)

There are currently 8 unused "reserved" channels.

Also note that Stratos is only testing at the moment, their official launch is the 3rd October.

As for Maori TV, take a look at their weekend movie lineup. There have been some awesome Kiwi and international films as part of the season. Since I got freeview I find I'm watching Maori TV a lot more.
