So about once a day, while gaming or watching a movie or netflix, anything using the hdmi inputs, my LG surround sound system erupts into static sound while the picture still runs. It's a hdmi in system and I'm normally using my Xbox one or PS4. It gives me one hell of a fright, it's dam loud. The only way to fix it is to restart the system.

Also, the software is very glitchy, often not returning to the home screen when I hit the button, instead just going to a black screen. I'm forced to cycle through using the function button until I get to the input I want. My last system, a pioneer, had the same software issues. Seems to only be when switching from a hdmi input.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

The laggy aspect of the menu system may be fixed by a firmware update or a full reset.
I'm assuming you've swapped out the cables?

Or.

It may be of typical of its breed...

The menu is not lag, you could push the home button for ever and you just get a black screen, then you have to cycle through the inputs until it decides to work. It works maybe 1 in 10 times. Funny thing is my last system done a similar thing. Just another reason not to buy home theaters in a box. Although this one was nearly a grand!
