I noticed today that TV2 on Optus D1 has - what appears to be - data lines showing at the very top of the picture area. The remaining channels on the same transponder are all OK - except TV2.

Is anyone else noticing this today, or could this be related to my configuration (using Media Portal)?

Cheers Mike

Yes, that could very well be what I am seeing (thanks openmedia). So the question now is - is everyone seeing this also, or is it just me?  If its just me then I have a problem.

Cheers Mike

Thanks guys, It does seem to have sorted itself out now for me. Must have been in the transmission itself.

If the transmission team could now just get the aspect ratio and picture size sorted out it would be perfect. I just can't get used to a picture size that is changing so frequently. Every advert comes in at a different size - some letterboxed, some postage stamped et al. Kinda makes me want the old days back.

Cheers Mike

Probably going to be like this for a good 3-6 months for the adverts to get replaced. Even then expect older programs to be mixed aspect

Recently watching any TVNZ (1, 2, TVNZ6 and sport extra) signal through freeview I've been noticing a lot of noise, some sort of interlacing issue? Where sometimes there are a lot of vertical lines running through the picture and it's starting to be pretty unbearable.

I’m watching this through a composite connection on my Topfield TF5000CI, but when watching through my Nova S on media portal I don't seem to notice it and even watching TV1 or 2 through my sky decoder I don't notice it.

That sounds weird. I was watching through the same receiver last week on my LCD TV. Good receiver that.  Picture looked great. Only, via component there are occasional horizontal interlacing oddities if the sharpness on the TV was turned up. I guess there is no progressive scan option with these. Via composite, the picture is more forgiving. Something sounds weird on your setup.
