Can someone check channels 89 and 94 on their Sky STB. Heard that they might have loaded Stratos and Parliament.

Meanwhile back in Gotham City,

Well I guess this means that the folk at Stratos are not as closed minded as TVNZ and see maximum exposure as more important than exclusivity. Dunno about the parliment bit though, refering to minds, closed or existant.

I'm waiting on official feedback from Stratos, but I doubt this is planned. Kordia are helping out with Stratos and possibly won't be too pleased about Sky "borrowing" their expensive transmissions for free.

The Mysky unit won't record anything off it. You hit record and it just comes up with info banner. Hit record again and it just keeps displaying banner. Also won't set up recording from guide.  Just tried manual record where set times and not from guide, that worked.

Also if press i/? and use up down to see what's on other channels can't get program synopsis while on Stratos.

It's good to see some of the free view stuff come through - guess it's only TVNZ that's fussy about what system people use to pick up their transmission - our tax dollars hard at work. As far as I know TVNZ is the only one that has received tax payer money for new channels.

The EPG stream has no details for either of these channels at the moment. Can you define a manual recording in MySky like an old VCR?

Exactly, in the old days with FTA analog transmissions, broadcasters didnt care damn what you used to recieve their signals whether it be a bit of wire connected to a couple of razor blades with a lump of coal between them, or if you paid a $1m a month to have it piped by the lattest technology god knows where, they were just happy you could recieve it. So whats happend now?

Yes. Have to enter system set up. Then number 6 is manual record. Once in there put channel number in, channel name automatically appears below it, and use left and right arrows to select day - (as days and not dates can only go up to a week ahead.)
Then put in start and end times. Can also set to record every day same time channel, mon-fri only or to record weekly.

Only disadvantage is when record you get the date of the recording etc as the program name in the planner. Also if program changes time the recording times won't change with it.

As I said in the other thread, when I flick between my Sky box and a FTA box the pic is indentical to my eyes ,and yes not in the same league as TVNZ/Canwest, and when I rescanned last evening I couldnt find a stream in any Sky mux.

Hi, Stratos seems to be gone as no longer on CH89 or any other channel number.

It seems just putting the box into stanby seems to have resolved the issue.

I aim to misbehave.

I'm not quite sure what you mean. Did putting your box into standby force Stratos to reload, or make it disappear?

Steve
