I would just like to say a big thanks to all those who have helped out with suggestions in the past few weeks. None of them really helped for long as my PC started disentergrating all around, services and hardware left right and centre either stopped working or were crashing.

So, a good format and clean reinstall, plus setting everything up as per the info available on this site has got my HTPC running solid as again.
Funny thing is, now TV3 & Stratos are great. Must have had a bit much in the background causing issues.
No doubt I'll be back with more issues at a later date.
