So turned the tv on today, then after 5 minutes the thing said no and turned itself off.

Now when you turn it on, it blinks green for a bit, then reverts to 7 red flashes.

According to the net - it is the 7 blinks of death.

Love my TV and dont really want to part with it so thought I would post here to see if anyone else has experienced this?

Will give Panasonic a bell tomorrow - I bought direct from them.

I note on the net, this is VERY common on the ones made in 2011.

Otherwise I think it may be time to get a 65in in its spot if I cannot get her back up n running.

Any advice would be appreciated.

So are you saying your TV is only four years old?  I'd say you have an excellent case for Panasonic to fix or replace it under the CGA.  They might be quite open to you paying the difference in value between your current TV size and the 65 inch size and sending you a new 65 inch TV.

Thanks yeah you are right. It shouldn't just stop working like that! Just about 3.5 years old

I had this happen last year on the same model.  2.5 years old, originally bought at the now defunct Bond & Bond so ended up calling Noel Leeming who immediately went down the "it's over the 1 year warranty - not our problem line".  

Couldn't be bothered getting into it with them just then so rang Panasonic directly who gave me the number of their local repair guy to get him out to investigate.  He said a couple of boards needed replacing and Panasonic were likely to pay the cost of everything, which they did.  Rather smooth process, just a small wait while the boards were ordered and being shipped.

Dunedin, Smart Electronics.  Great to deal with.

But as I said, I was given their details from Panasonic.  Would be best to call them first - 09 272 0178 according to the website - and get their recommendation for your area.

If you bought directly from Panasonic, were you buying for business reasons? Or for home use?
I was under the understanding that they didn't supply the public directly?

All fixed. Panasonic covered the parts and local agent installed it for a small fee
