Hi all,

I have a satellite receiver card in my PC, its a Skystar 2 (me thinks), I can get the lame tv1 and tv2 broadcast by sky but cant get the freeview tv1 and 2 which are broadcast at a higher bitrate (apparently), it would be nice to get onto the proper freeview channels especailly as this new tvnz6 has just rolled out.

I've checked lyngsat.com and thats how I was able to get the figures to connect to the sky frequencies but the freeview channels dont have an SID number to go with them.  tvnz6 does on lyngsat but this channel still doesnt work.

Has anyone struck similar problems?

Cheers

Hadley

I use the software that came with the card, its called DVB Viewer.

Thanks for the quick responses.

You should just be able to scan 12483H and see the active SIDs.

Either Way the values are

  • 1025 = Maori TV
  • 1035 = TV One
  • 1036 = TV 2
  • 1904 = TVNZ 6
  • 1903 = TVNZ Sports Extra
If you can't get a signal lock on 12483H then your skew might be slightly off.

Ah fantastic, just the numbers I've been looking for!!  May you have many sons (indian proverb) (I am not indian)

My skew??  Hmmm  Would I still be able to pickup the other channels that I can get if my skew was wrong?

How can I check my skew?  Get up on the roof i guess?

Thanks heaps for those numbers all the same!!

There is a vertical feed on 12483 that will affect your 12483H signal if your skew is borderline, but not affect 12456H

I heard that there is an AU data signal on 12483V which is one of the reasons so many people have issues with their skew. Craig has mentioned it on apsattv a couple of times.
