So is there any way to set up MCE2005 to have access to MANY channels?

Basically - I probably am far to inexperienced and don't understand this all enough. I'm really not seeing the problem in having a LNB 'tune' to a different frequency or satellite?

So currently I have it running fine with freeview, but i want more! how does one go about getting more?

Karl

In sort you will need the following:

I would suggest you would want something like this: http://www.freeviewshop.co.nz/optus-d1b3c1-package-p-350.html

Depending on how good you are you might be able to get away with a 75cm dish, but a 90cm dish gives you a better chance of setting it up.  But the Sky dish you have on your house probably won't be any good for getting anything other than D1, or D1 & C1 if you have the newer style LNB supplied by Sky, a picture of which can be found here

Otherwise you could go down the dish mover path... http://www.freeviewshop.co.nz/moteck-sg2100-dish-mover-p-32.html

I don't work for Freeviewshop nor have I ever baught anything off them, just using them as a reference site as they have most of the things you want...

The reality is that unless you are deeply religious (of the american TV evangilist type) or speak Dutch, or an Asian language you will not really find much out there of interest, most of this is at 152E on B3 (or D2 when it gets there).

D1 (which you already have for FreeView) has an erratic SCTV feed that disapears and chops programming from time to time (this is because its a backhaul feed for terrestial Txs in Aus) and NITV and Imparja, all of which can be obtained with a standard 65cm FreeView/Sky setup, and for many folk does not warrent the effort to tune into.

Expect more services at 152E off D2 in January as most of the Globecast services will be on dual focus beams for AU + NZ.

Hi Steve, are you refering to the Globcast mux on B3 at 12564H would be visible here, other than Setanta there once again is little of interest to English only speakers, or do you think there will be more English services that dont bother the big fella (he is male is it not).

There is a lot of interest in some of their non-english services. Heard about some spanish and chilean channels appearing.

Also I quite enjoy Russia Today on B3.

With the changes with D2 perhaps we will some some other interesting services appear.

oooo Setanta on a beam available in NZ??

If they do that, I hope they do the same as Foxtel, and resell it as an additional service. Including it with current package would be even better, but isn't gonna happen :(
