I have an Intel D34010WYK Haswell i3 NUC with Crucial M500 240GB mSATA SSD and 2 x 4GB Crucial DDR3 1600 RAM.

When I play files back to the TV on the HDMI whether it be via the NAS or direct from the HDD on the NUC I get a sort of tearing across the screen about 3rd down from the top. Also seems to be pretty jerky at times on playback.

I am running MINT as the OS and pretty sure I did the driver install correctly when I set it up.

Any ideas as to what might be the issue?

I have the same model NUC, as well as a Celeron-based one, with no issues with video quality form any sources, but both are running Win7 rather than Mint. Have you tried different media player apps, to see if it is program-specific?

Actually I wonder if this is a linux Mint issue. I recently loaded mint on a spare laptop and it exhibits the same semi screen tearing symptoms when playing media

Ok this is good, thanks, helps narrow it down. I will check out the drivers etc tonight or tomorrow to try and get to the bottom of it.
