Hi,

Just checking, has anyone located their Veon TV within the Logitech Harmony Remote Database?

It shows Veon as a Manufacturer, but none of the model numbers I'm putting in are being recognised.

The query tool is much stupid, and doesn't appear to be setup to allow it to return all models from a certain manufacturer. yell

I really don't want to miss out on discrete input commands if they exist, but they're not presented on the actual device remote.  I need this to be reliable as it's for the parents...

Anyhow, if your TV has been found in the database, could you let me know what model number you used please?

Cheers.

I had no luck and had to actually learn it when I set one up ages ago.

There are at least 3 real manufacturers behind veon TV's but even going thru all the list I could be bothered on my chinese IR remote control device of random sounding brands I had no luck getting to the veon.

Yeah learning doesn't get you access to the discrete input commands the TV will most likely have, but which is not on the original remote.

Pssd off with this but the help phone contact is not open until next week now.

I assume the veon listing on their site is for a DVD player or something like that.

I wouldnt count on it having those codes.

I might go pull the IR reciever out of some dead appliance and see if I can get the veon codes out of an arduino sometime. Usually itterating the last byte will give you other codes that are not preasent on the physical remote. However when I tried that with my HDMI matrix switch one of them seemed to cause it to lock up totally which is clearly great design.

Hi.
Had the same problem with a 'All for One' universal remote. No codes listed in the book or anywhere online. After phoning their support number, I had to send the remote to Amber Technology in Glenfield, Auckland.

They used code 3528 and I now have basic functionality.
Maybe that will work for you?

Thanks!

I was just thinking I needed to get back into this.
Over time they will need to add it to their database formally as more are being sold.

Will chase it up later in the week.

Cheers

The warehouse could also do with getting samsung to have it added to the phones IR database it uses too.

Maybe they should look at this immediately as the Warehouse ads state that Veon is NZ's #1 Selling TV Brand.

The absolute important points required for the harmony database are the discrete input selection commands.
Without these the automation is always going to be a bit flaky.
You don't get these on the original remotes, so they can't be learned.

I haven't seen any T's & C's on that claim - I wonder what time period it was measured over?

Presumably these are manufactured by some OEM and branded as something else in other territories - brands that are probably in the database. No way to find this out?

The crap motel I was in in sydney had the same tv with a different brand.

I tried heaps of junk sounding brands in the samsung supplied app and got thru to the F's before giving up.

Does the remote itself have its own model number? On a sticker on the back or anything?

Might sound funny but why not contact the motel and ask them what brand their TVs are?

Direct inputs and dedicated power on and power off are the main requirements for a TV.

Most everything else can be learned from the supplied remote.

Have you emailed their support team? When I got my Sony TV, I too couldn't get access to direct inputs, I had to step through all the various inputs. I emailed them with the TV model number and they loaded the codes/options into my profile.
