On a budget of $1200 and looking for a semi decent VC solution that will work with Lync.

It can be something that hooks up to a desktop or laptop in the meeting room..

Any thoughts folks?

I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code

Hi there!
I like the Polycom units, it really depends on your budget.
You can basically start with any webcam connected to a PC or laptop.
What is your budget?

You can always contact the local Microsoft guys, they are pretty good. One of the best is Paul Dolley (but he is now traveling around the region so harder to get hold of).
A good Lync partner would be ucfx.com, they are a local crowd.
cheers

Have a look at Logitech cc3000e (and its new little sibling) - good value conference cam and audio capabilities. Needs to connect via a laptop or PC.
