Hi Guys,
If anyone found a solution to the behavior described below, it would be greatly appreciated to hear back from you.
I have used MP for several years now, never getting the "sleep / wake up for recording" truly right. But I have lived with it as it was.
I have recently decided to get this working, and apparently it does work, I have set the MP to turn PC off after 10 min of inactivity. It then comes back on to record and then goes back to sleep, of course 10 min after the recording is done. The start-up is quicker as well, as it does not go through a full boot cycle.
Issue 1 - not important at all: to turn the PC on, I still have to press the on/off button on the case, or any key on a wireless keyboard I have. Th remote control (Hauppauge 45 buttons) cannot be used to turn the Pc back on while on sleep. Is this possible? But again... this is a very minor issue.
Issue 2 - this I REALLY want sorted. When the PC is back on from the sleep state, only few of the remote buttons work, like volume, skip, FFW, start / pause but not the rest of the functions (exit / back, coloured buttons, "i" for info, channel up/down, and other important functions). I have to actually re-start the PC (using the wireless keyboard) to re-gain access of the Hauppauge remote control. The full MediaPortal functionality is available if I use the keyboard, but at the same time the remote is not recognized unless I do a reboot?
I am planning to be away and the way the PC is running now is OK to ensure that shows are recorded while away, but as you can guess, it is far from ideal when using it on a daily basis. Is this something which can be fixed / improved please?
Also, I am using an external EPG grabber to get the TV Schedule, I would like to have this running let's say 2-3 times a week, to ensure the TV Schedule is renewed while I am away (I can have a fresh TV Schedule when I leave on holiday but this is only for one week, I will be away for longer - the recordings will still be done but will be all dumped together in a "manual" folder if there is no valid EPG at the time when the recording starts... you know what I mean...)
Many thanks in advance.
