Go stream desktops are currently $180usd from Amazon. I'm just wondering if they are still the best value mini pc and if Amazon is the best place to buy through?

Thanks

Do you have a link to the product? I'd like to compare it to others but couldn't find it by Googling or searching Amazon.

LOL! It's a really good little unit, from everything I've heard. Someone on the forums has one and posted about it not so long ago.

I have a Minix Neo Z64 Windows 8.1 with Bing, which I like a lot. Might be slightly cheaper (around $260 incl shipping from Expansys vs $317 incl shipping from Amazon), but it's not quite as well specced as the Stream Mini. The Stream comes with it's own keyboard and mouse and the Minix doesn't. Amazon will ship the Stream direct to NZ and they're a good reliable retailer. Nobody locally appears to be selling it. I'd say you can't go far wrong with it as an HTPC.

I like mine, but it does have an impeller for cooling which can be heard when the lounge gets really hot from the woodburner. Optimal config is to add a matched 2GB ram module to boost it to 4GB dual channel mode. There is a mount for a 2.5" drive and a port on the motherboard, but the cable to connect them can't easily be acquired, so consider how you will add storage if required. I am using iSCSI as it has 1Gb/s Ethernet.

thanks for the replays.

I've got a usb 3.0 1tb external hdd that I will use for extra space. Is the keyboard and mouse that it comes with wireless?

Just had a look at the current exchange rate... not a good time to be buying from America that's for sure!!

Keyboard and mouse are wired. Working in IT they breed so I haven't even taken them out of the box. I wish you could ask youshop to bin them to save on shipping 😃

Total came to $397.00 for hp stream, extra 2gb ram, and a wireless keyboard.

Bit to much. I was expecting $350 Max but with $1 usd being $1.50 nzd atm I can't justify it.
