Hi Members,

I have used Mediaportal and epg collector for over one year now but it suddenly stopped working, I have re-installed the programs many times, re-set the tuners and looked at every message in the forums  but  after many hours have given up.
I am constantly getting a message "the collection process has completed with exit code 2
the initialization file cannot be located"
Technicians in local shops have no knowledge about epg collecter even if they sell computers set up with tv

The message means that it can't find the parameter file you originally created with EPG Centre.

The view of the general log in EPG Centre shows you where it is looking for this file.

Thanks for your help, When trying to set up epg collection I getting stopped saying I don't have permission.
Than I log in to the administrator and I get the channel information but still cannot get mediaportal to load it.
When everything works in mediaportal it is a very good program but I have got tired of having to reset EPG collector  to often and not having enough knowledge to sort it out easily. so I have bought a Dish tv tuner.
I prefer the setting up of recording on mediaportal but hope not to get problems with Dish tv.
a simpler setup of EPG wood be good for people like me with limited computer knowledge
