Hi

just wanted to ask a quick question to Roku 3 users:

Do you have your Roku set to the UK or USA - which is best ?

Also are you geo-unblocked for Amazon/googleplay/netflix or does your Roku default back to NZ/Aus ?

(got mine working last night now just seeing whats what)

I have mine set to us. Netflix runs on NZ mode. I use to have netflix running on US with unblockus.
ROku 3 is awesome but I mainly use it for running PLEX (which has gone backwards in latest update)

Mine is US.  I do contemplate getting a 2nd to make it UK....as I want BBC iPlayer, and Channel 4 and if it exists itv as there's a number of shows on those networks I like...and the plex channels aren't always that reliable.

If I do pull the trigger on an apple tv4, I'll probably convert my roku 3 to uk.  But I might miss the headphone jack in the remote.

i just ran through set up to see what the UK offering was and it has

bbc sport - average
sky sports news uk - useful
itv player - excellent especially with RWC coverage
BBC iplayer - useful and works
4 and 5 players - meh
handful of other channels - meh
TVnow option - 9.99 per month option for movies and tv - meh
no amazon

will take a closer look at USA offering

the ITV player for RWC is raising my eyebrows...

I just found a US based app (put out by NBC I believe) which has the RWC.  I haven't tried it so it may require a cable subscription.

Mine is set to US, but to be honest most of what we watch is via Netflix or Amaon anyway. The ITV and BBC iPlayer apps would be nice to have if you went UK though. Hmmmm. Ons second thought perhaps I should reconfigure mine to the UK, with the rugger world cup upcoming...? Basicallly, set your account to wherever you prefer. And you can have both a US and UK account setup, although switching between them requires a factory reset and re-login, I believe. Not a *huge* job, but mroe than just flicking a few switches/sliders.

Basically, set up a Roku account in either the UK or US using a geo service to look like you're in that country. You can have both a US and UK account setup, although switching between them requires you to "unlink" the account and re-login with the alternative account. Not a *huge* job, but more than just flicking a few switches/sliders.

Mine doesn't default back to NZ unless my DNS provider is having issues, or I screw something up on my network settings. Although with most DNS services you can very easily switch the Netflix region to various countries, including NZ.

I have mine set to UK, and dns4me supports ITV and iPlayer just fine, and Netflix US. Dns4me were brilliant, when ITV initially didn't work, I asked them to add it, and it was working within 24 hours!
