so my mums HTPC (core i3, 8 Gb ram, samsung 850SSD, 7200rpm spinpoint HDD) starts to respond very slowly when recording even a single show in WMC. if you are recording in the background and surfing the net for instance the mouse goes all jittery and slow etc...I'd have thought the specs were overkill for an HTPC so should cope ok?
any setting i should be looking at?
the tv tuner card (avermedia twinstar) records to the spinpoint HDD so would have thought that net surfing would be using the SSD and so shouldnt be effected?
