Hi all

I have a UA48H5000 Tv bought about a year ago, with multiple HDMI sources into the tv then audio output to a HW-J7501 soundbar via optical connection. The audio starts out fine (possibly a few MS behind) but goes significantly further out of sync over time.

The audio appears to be lagging and i can't set the delay on either the TV or soundbar to less than zero. Which wouldnt really fix the problem anyway because it's a cumulative issue.

I've updated the firmware on both devices but the only remedy is to switch the TV off and back on again, or not use the soundbar (there are no issues using the TV speakers). Over 40min tv shows it will be around a second out by the end.

So far have had no luck with google searches, and although the Samsung Facebook team are polite and responsive i've not had any success resolving this on their advice either.

Any help appreciated! It's driving my wife (and therefore me) mad!

*edit: the sources sent to the TV are MySky and AppleTV - and i'm having the same issue from both

Have you tried connecting your Soundbar via HDMI Arc?

As far as i'm aware the TV doesnt have ARC, although i'll take it off the wall tonight to be 100% sure.

From the website:

HDMI 1.4 A/Return Ch. Support

No

Not sure if it's much help, but I have a similar problem with audio from my Panasonic VT50 plasma, but only for audio sourced from my Apple TV. I have all equipment connected via HDMI to the TV, and then an optical cable from the TV to my AV receiver (which doesn't support HDMI). I ended up having to get an optical switch from Jaycar, so I can have an additional optical connection from my Apple TV directly to the AV receiver (which has only one optical input).

Not sure if that is possible with your setup, but I mention it just in case it is another viable solution for you.

Is the audio output of your Sky box set to Dolby or PCM? And what are the audio settings for the TV output (Dolby or PCM)>

Have only seen this on a PC when it was set to 24hz output instead of 23.9something and playing a movie.
