Hi there,

Will firstly explain my setup, have a Denon AVR-X2000, have both MYSKY and my bluray player running HDMI into it, then an HDMI output to my TV.
I recently had to do a factory rest on this receiver, and afterwards I notice I no longer have sound coming from my 2 surround speakers and can't figure out why.
I have looked through the manual and gone over many settings with the remote.
Doing a test tone I get sound through all speakers, and pressing info on the remote shows the speakers are 'active', but the input signal only displays the front 2 speakers and says the signal is in 2.0. The input select in the setup is set as AUTO.
The MYSKY decoder is on MPEG/PCM, and switching to Dolby makes no difference except the sound is quieter. .
Annoying thing is that I know I had a similar problem when I first set this up about a year ago, but using google or anything can't seem to figure it out.
Thanks for any help, and will try to reply quickly if more information is needed. Cheers.

I've got x3000.

If the info button input just list stereo then need to use other options to generate virtual surround ie IIc. Press movie button to change modes.

If I want Dolby out of the myskybox I have to change the audio output to hdmi. Change this then when playing Dolby source, should see Dolby on screen and multiple inputs when pressed info button.

I found it was easy to accidentally enter different speaker modes.

Thanks for the reply,
Regarding the Dolby, I tried that, and did not notice any change to the input signal.
I usually have the sound on Multi Channel using the movie button on the remote. I have tried other options, but again it's still stuck in 2.0 with no sound coming from back speakers.
Appreciate the help.

?Play blu ray with Dolby HD or similar so can exclude Mysky as source

If front panel says Dolby HD and info button shows multitrac audio then sky box not outputting audio correctly.

When I want surrounds from sky box I just leave mysky in Dolby HDMI output mode. Does mean can't use sky remote for volume though.

?turned up volume loud enough so rears go.

Hi again,
So I made the mistake of not testing MYSKY on channel 1,2,3 which have Dolby, I did that now and the input is shown as Dolby Digital with the surround speakers listed using the info button.
Also the same with a bluray disc, but even turning up the volume no sound from those surround speakers, only the front 2 and the sub.
I'm 99% certain that before the reset MYSKY had MPEG/PCM selected and sound through all speakers.

So information input shows 5.1 and output does too but no sound rear ?

Ie amp knows there is rear source coming in and thinks it outputting too ? Ie 5 lit up speaker boxes for input and output.

Tricky.
You've done the speaker calibration so sound going to rears ? So speakers ok.
?? Haven't changed speaker wires ie left and right rear vrs surround rears.
?? Something damaged - why did you need to factory reset in the first place...
I confused my machine using network app and it crashed and didn't fix with reset but spontaneously fixed itself after couple of days
??? Not in " pure" speaker mode which is stereo only.
???? Go through all movie speaker options.

The input signal only shows 2 speakers, although there are 4 shown on the right hand of the screen under active speakers.
if I go to setup, general, information, the format is listed as 2/0/.0

Yep, test tone still has sound through rear speakers. No change in speakers wires or connections.
I was originally having an issue with the front right speaker sometimes cutting out. and in trying to figure that out I did a system restore. I think I have solved that problem by removing more of the back of the display cabinet for the air to escape.
Not in pure mode, and have tried all other options in the movie list.

Once again thanks for help, will try my luck with av forums. Cheers.
