We have a 16 year old Bose system that still runs brilliantly. 6 speakers in the lounge, 4 in living room and kitchen, 2 in the bedroom plus via another amp workshop, bathroom, office and 4 outside.
Have hooked up the new Apple TV to the optical in (but works in the lounge speakers only) and works just fine.
Ok the question is this!
How can we hook up via BlueTooth (or any other means) the iPhones for music through all the speakers? There are spare audio in slots on the Bose.
Apologies if this appears obvious!
Thanks

Take a look at the Chromecast Audio too since they have optical out so you get the best of both worlds. There are plenty of apps supporting the Chromecast standard now.

Or maybe an Airport Express from Apple? I use one connected via 3.5mm jack to RCA inputs on an old stereo to create a wifi connection which I connect to on the iPhone and play music via the stereo.

Thanks you guys and have ordered one. Then my "chief technical advisor" (son) read my post and suggested what he has! This:

Sonos gear is really good but quite over priced. I love the Chromecast for music because every device I own supports it (Chromebook, iMac, Laptop, Phones).

We use one of these for an old stereo.  Works a treat.  http://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/bluetooth-audio-adapter
