I recorded a program from my sky onto the HDD. It is in wide screen. When I play the program from the HDD on the sony it is still in wide screen. But when I record it onto a dvd it squashes it into 4:3 format. Why?

What is your set top box set on?

I have my Sky box set to 16:9 widescreen, and my DVD recorder set to something else and it does the same thing.  You will need to change the aspect ratio on your DVD recorder to the correct setting.

Sorry about the vague response, I'm at work at the moment.
