Hi,

 

No longer able to retrieve EPG info. Error is exit code 5. This was working up until 5Feb16. Repeated after windows update and a reboot but same problem.

 

Using v4.3 FP1 on Windows 10 and provided. Log info provided below...

 

Any help and advice appreciated.

Can you use EPG Centre to do a transport stream dump of 11778v, upload it somewhere and post the link. 60 secs please.

 

From the log EPGC is not receiving any programme descriptions for some reason.

SJB, I don't understand what you're asking for here. I've never done a transport stream dump before.

 

Ignore the above - Found the user guide and prepping the transport stream. Let you know when its done.

I seem to hvae got it working again. ...just don't know how.

 

I found that I couldn't save changes the EPG Centre tuner tick-box to a different tuner, as I have two of them. A box kept appearing asking if I wanted to save the changes, but everytime I wen't back into EPGC I found that it was reset back to the old tuner. So, I re-installed EPGC and had another go, but had the same problem. Couldn't find any protection issues on the config file so got a bit trigger happy with the tuning paramters which, at some point, asked if it was okay to overwrite the current tuning parameters. I said yes and then it allowed me to save to a different tuner.

 

I'm currently re-running a collection and at least it's coming back log lines with various percentages of EPG retrieval. i.e. Business as usual.

 

So, it's looking good so far and will confirm when it's complete.

 

On a seperate PC, with different LNB connections to the same dish, I ran an EPGC collection and it worked just fine even before any of the above changes to my main PC.

Thought it was too much to hope for. Exit code 10 this time. Some frequencies couldn't be processed?

 

...but I have ended-up with a 5Mb tvguide.xml file but channels without EPG are...

 

5*, 5* +1 FSAT, c4 l, Challenge, Challeng+, ITV, ITV+1, ITV4+1

That file you posted processed OK eventually but did show up a fault in EPGC that caused an exception if an OpenTV programme had no description. I'll put a fixpack out for that.

 

Incidentally the file was very small, around 20mb. Previous Sky ts dumps I have received have been around 250mb. Suggests to me a hardware problem.

 

From the log you posted the FreeSat collection worked but tuner 3 couldn't tune to 1177800v so no Sky data. The missing stations you listed appear to be on 1177800v. LNB problem maybe as FreeSat is below the LNB switch value of 11700000 and Sky is above it.

Yes, it does sound like a hardware problem as my other PC uses different LNBs off the same dish and it worked just fine.

 

I seem to go through LNBs every 12 months or so. Another visit to eBay. Not sure what's causing the problem as I'm using the same card type in both PCs.
