Hi all,

A quick question before I butcher my $19, 3m 6 plug scart cable into a $19, 3M component cable (Jaycar - WV7344), does wss work over component?

Currently I have a receiver connected to my sony lcd tv via composite, and am looking at changing this to a component connection, however, I am wondering if the component cable will pass the necessary signal to the tv to automatically switch aspect ratio, as is currently happening over the composite connection.

Cheers,
Daniel.

Hi Daneil I presume this is in connection with at Sky or FreeView STB. The answer is yes with component the WSS signalling is carried on the Y (Luma) channel as if it were the composite channel, and should continue to work as with composite.

Cool. Thanks for that.

Seems to be quite a good quality cable as well...
