I'm trying to connect a Raspberry Pi to a wall-mounted flat panel, however the HDMI plug doesn't fit between the screen and the wall.

In order to solve that I require one of these bad boys

Unfortunately I can't find anything on my first points of call (Jaycar & PB-Tech)

Well I did find this: http://www.jaycar.co.nz/Sight-%26-Sound---Home/AV-Leads-%26-Adaptors/HDMI/HDMI-Plug-to-HDMI-Socket-Swivel-Adaptor/p/PA3647

but $18 seems a big rip-off.

Where could I pick up one of these cheap in AKL?

Surplustronics perhaps? Rapallo in East Tamaki apparently stock them; http://www.rapalloav.co.nz/hdmi-right-angle-adapter-flat-bottom.html

Note that the fixed angle adapters as per the picture above come in 90 deg and "270" deg versions.  Just a heads up on that - as sod's law states that you'll find this out only after driving across town to pick up the wrong one.  The flexi adapters solve this problem, but they may be a bit longer.

I bought one from Cable Warehouse - currently $11.95.

Or there's this one for $1.90?

Just FYI I got some "flexible ones" that had a hinge mechanism. I had mixed success with these (ie they were pretty flaky). So if you go for flexible make sure you can return it.

There's a bunch of them for sale on TradeMe . I found I needed one after I wall mounted the TV in the lounge.

After looking at many of the options given I found one of the TradeMe listings to be based on the North Shore, and upon further inspection the seller is in the same suburb!

Will pick it up for $2.99 later this afternoon :)
