These are the bench mark in budget passive budget bookshelves. They sound awesome for the money, a friend has some they imported.

I was hoping someone in NZ sells them.

LOL, under your post popped up an Amazon advert for them. $300ish NZ including shipping to New Zealand. I found an outfit called PruBuy selling them; they have a NZ shopfront on their site but I don't think they're locally based.

Yeah, I noticed that. I've been looking for a nice pair of computer speakers for my 2008 Mac Pro and most of the ones that came tops in recent reviews are not available here.

yeah i agree, its like a forgotten market, which forces people to buy jbhifi stuff.

i think the 8c is pretty close to the 9c tonally just doesnt have the hdmi etc. both seem to have remotes and volume display.

but those pioneers are budget class leader passive bookshelfs, well worth buying a cheap used amp to drive them and in time getting a used sub, or 2 ;-p

seems Jones has made a massive improvement in pioneer sound.

just watched a video on Klipsch 7.2 reference and feel totall GASed out. Even though the review lacked audio examples. Klipsch just have such an exciting look, something you wouldnt even need to play to feel relaxed and at home.

If Andrew Jones made a difference with Pioneer, then Onkyo didn't feel the same... once they bought Pioneer he was gone.

i watched a muteki 7.2 system slip through my fingers helplessly yesterday, $380 it sold for. wasnt that old either. but i think the mrs would have not appreciated the volume or space it would take up. but dual subs, i know its just a sony system, but they are still good value for money. id of course much prefer the klipsch reference 7.2 system

Klipsch reference 7.2 video

or even the Klipsch THX ultra2 system, although I prefer the colour of the reference range.

Klipsch THX2

Andrew Jones Atmos Pioneer system seemed to do well too.

Pioneer atmos video with Andrew Jones

thanks hyper ill fire them an email. even the pioneer surround packages seem to get good reviews and those small sat speakers are full range. so Andrew must have done some good.
