Hi All,

Im just looking into the whole HDTV thing now that DVB-T is around.  What i would like to know is there a way i can set up some sort of IR extender, as my computer is in office about 10m away from TV in lounge.  I already have RCA cables running to it under the house, but would like to be able to control with Remote.  Is this possible?

Regards,
Kevin

Yes, but most extenders use 433 MHz with a lousy receiver in the end that beams IR out to your gear. At mums place the things picking up noise all the time when you are not sending commands - its LED blinks all the time and it often ends up jamming remotes in the room the receiver is in.

Jaycar have a kitset for a wired one for a tolerable price, just biff some cat-5 thru and put the LED on the end of it.
