Hi all, I am about to buy the above DVD recorder and all I want to know is if it plays Divx subtitles in SRT format or not?

Also, would like to know if Divx files encoded with AC3 audio can be played or not.

Is this a good recorder overall, I mean not too slow etc.

The HX720 is a good recorder, however YMMV re DiVX with subtitles, I have not tried it as you intend to use it though.

I actually tried it last nite and it has another problem, no AC3 support for Divx files and also it does not show a list of Divx files on the DVD, just lets you play them one by one. So, there is no way of selecting subtitles if it is not showing the Data on DVD.
I believe Philips is the only player at the moment that can play subtitles for Divx and also has AC3 sound support for Divx files.
