I’ve got a Denon AC-1912 receiver that I can’t quite wrap my head around. When the HDMI source is set to the PlayStation 4, it will passthrough HDMI video/audio even when the audio receiver itself is off. It doesn’t always work and will stop passing through HDMI when I turn the recdiver off. Other HDMI sources, like the Google Chromecast, Apple TV, or Xbox One never passthrough HDMI when the receiver is off.

From the receiver’s manual, I can’t even tell whether the box is even supposed to passthrough HDMI when it’s off or not. I’m actually wondering whether it’s a feature or a bug.

Does anyone have the same, admittedly old, Denon receiver and can help explain how this is supposed to work?
