Hi,

I do not know if this means anything but I have just watched a Sky TV ad. during 3 news, I hope this is a sign that possibly the Networks have come to some sort of understanding. TV3 HD on Sky?

Thoughts?

I aim to misbehave.

Hi,

It was just for Sky start up package, though the reason for the post is that as far as I am aware, in the 5 years I have been here I have not seen a Sky ad. on any other channel than Sky owned Prime. I heared that TVNZ and Mediaworks refused to play Sky ads, so this is a mile stone 3-4 Months out from Sky going HD. I believe that Sky may have done a pay per sub. deal with Mediaworks.

I aim to misbehave.

I've seen plenty of sky ads on the TV1/2 & TV3 networks for years.

TVNZ have always refused to carry Sky adverts, this was one of the issues that brought about the crumbling of the regional streams of TV1/2 on the preFreeView sat service.

Don't TV3 have a small % ownership in Sky, so advertising them makes sense (or might be part of the deal).  TVNZ used to years ago but they sold it.  That was when the preferred TV channel button changed from 1 to 3.
