Following on from this thread:

http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=126&topicid=205124

I'm trying to work out what changes would enable the TVHeadend EIT grabber to make the full 7-day EIT guide data available for all regions of NZ (the Auckland region EPG data is broadcast nationwide, but doesn't map on to the broadcast channels outside the Auckland/Whangarei region despite being the same programme content).

I've found the specification documents here:

http://www.freeviewnz.tv/company/equipment-supply-chain/

but the link to "Freeview|HD DTT Transmission Rules 3.0" which I suspect is what I need, is actually just a duplicate of the link to "Freeview|HD iDTV Specification v3.0".

The only mention of regions I can find is in the satellite transmission rules here:

http://www.freeviewnz.tv/media/1053/freeview-dth-transmission-rules-v18.pdf

which includes:

"3.1.6 Logical_channel_descriptor All services within FreeView shall be assigned a logical channel number using the logical_channel_descriptor 0x83. Some services will be assigned a LCN that is unique. Some other services for which there is a slightly different version available for different geographic regions, will be assigned the same LCN but in different bouquets. For example, the version of TVONE which has advertisements which are of interest primarily to the people of Christchurch and surrounding areas, will appear within bouquet_id=0x1400 with LCN=1. The version of TVONE however which has advertisements relevant primarily to the people of Waikato, and with a different service_id to that of the above TVONE, will appear within bouquet_id=1100, but also with LCN=1."

Can anyone tell me whether the satellite EIT data is identical to that broadcast on DVB-T?

Even if I can't figure out the necessary changes myself, I hope I can at least assemble enough information to submit an intelligible feature request to the TVHeadend developers...

The bouquet data you need isn't present in terrestrial broadcasts.

I've never managed to find the channel info for terrestrial data.

NextPVR (and every TV) handles this fine so it's obviously possible.
