Due to the very heavy downpour on my tin roof last night and my shift work partner trying to get to sleep till midnight, could not hear our HT 6:1 system with Netflix so plugged in my old 3.5 headphones. then thought about could I use a bluetooth transmitter.

Don't really want to spend mega-bucks. Found this at JayCar Bluetooth® Audio Dongle With Transmit/Receive. Of course would need bluetooth headphones as well, unless I could transmit to my iPhone and listen via that.

My system:

Sony STR-DB790 (6:1)

Panasonic Blue-ray PVR DMR-BWT835

Panasonic TH-L50E6Z TV

EDIT: JayCar Link

Left field...

Xbox One controllers now have a 3.5mm headphone socket on them for just such a purpose...

Handle9: I've got one of these for in the kitchen. It seems to work ok and is dirt cheap.

https://m.aliexpress.com/s/item/32630625103.html?trace=wwwdetail2mobilesitedetail&productId=32630625103&productSubject=32630625103&shortkey=ABB7JnM3&addresstype=600

That is exactly what I am looking for.

QUESTIONS:

1 - Is the above link to your seller as I read most of the reviews from all the Aliexpress sellers and some people had "Not delivered" problems with some of the sellers. (I count 6 different sellers)

2 - Some people have sound delays problems, are you experiencing this

3 - was postage free or extra cost

4- how long for delivery

(it is a pity someone on TradeMe isn't bringing these in)

EDIT: Someone is bringing them in on TradeMe but at $35

Spend a little more on one with aptx low latency. There are even some that will send to 2 sets of headphones. You need a headphone that does low latency as well to get the best out of it, but if you get a regular aptx headphone then they are pretty good for latency anyway.

The problem is that without aptx most of these things will fall back to SBC, which is the grotty bluetooth codec that got it the deserved reputation for terrible audio.

A friend got quite a neat sender that is also a reciever, so works both ways - audio in from the device and sending to bluetooth headphones, or flip a switch and it will take audio from a phone or laptop and put it into the home theater.

That's the seller, the sound does have a delay. I bought it last year so not sure about delivery etc. That always changes anyway on Aliexpress.
