Which Quad core of these two is the fastest?
I can pick up either at reasonably the same price.

Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 8M FSB1066
or
Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 2.5GHz 6M FSB1333

Q9300 due to faster FSB, if you use the same speed memory.

Q6600 is well enough to run a HTPC and you can run it at 1333 if you've got a semi robust board. In saying that, fast core & fsb will be more benficial than bigger cache so if you're afraid of overclocking then go for the 9300, especially if they're the same price. To be honest, I wouldn't bother spending that much on a CPU for a HTPC, you'll get more than enough out of a E4500 if you overclock it.
