Hi,
I have just finished upgrading my HTPC for FreeviewHD capability & some weird things are ocurring. If I press the sleep button on my MCE remote to power down, then resume, I have no video signal from any port or the TV output -no POST screen or access to BIOS. I am forced to replace my card with my older 6600LE version, boot up, then replace my Asus card.
Other things that occur when this happens:
-the CPU & system fan will start up, then shut off after about 1 second
-I have no network signal on my ethernet switch for this PC
I have tried it & it happens with both video cards. I am about to reinsert the Asus card.
What could cause this?
I read on another forum that a person was told when his ATI card system had a similar video signal issue to up the PCI-E voltage in BIOS.
The hardware is: -all with as-bought BIOSes
Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 mobo -never overclocked with standard voltage etc. settings
AMD AM2 4800+ CPU
Asus EN8500GT Silent Magic video card-512mb (no extra 5v connector)
Silverstone 400w PSU
Silverstone Lascala LS14 case
3x SATA HDDs (all on prior system)
Hauppauge HVR-220 DVB-T tuner card
Hauppuage 150MCE tuner card
I Ghosted the last OS image from my previous setup which I do not believe should have caused any issues?? How about potential conflicts with HAL??
I am planning to reinstall my OS but need to get to the bottom of this prior just in case it reccurs.
Also, is it normal for the8500 series cards to not show POST & bootup images on TV output? This was never an issue with my 6600LE card & it is a damned nuisance as my primary screen is a 4:3 CRT TV. Thanks.
