Well i have been looking forward to upgrading my old 720p pana plasma, was thinking this was the year.

I checked the Australian lg website, the entry level c7 listed at $4100 aussie, jbhifi and harvernorman aussie have it  for $3600 australian.

Wow i thought it maybe within my reach much better than $5000 to $8000 the older b6 was listed here for.

So far only smiths city have it listed for a whopping $6999, are LGNZ stupid, they are pricing it out of the market, i could fly to sydney and bring one back cheaper than that..... hope its an error on their behalf....

Damn might have to wait another year......

Yes the OLED screens are pretty expensive but they are very good panels. The picture quality is simply outstanding (I think @sbiddle would agree too) and they really stand out when compared to other TVs in the same store.

If I'm not mistaken, LG are the ones who make their OLED panels available for other TV manufacturers too, so a "Sony OLED" could possibly have an LG panel in it.

Aren't you missing the point? Are you implying the NZ panels are superior to the Aussie ones 😁

We already agree that OLED TV s are great.... But why the enormous discrepancy in prices between aus and NZ .......when usually prices are pretty equal for many consumer electronics.

Oh right lol. Yes, that is a pretty big difference, but hey, our tech products are always so damn more expensive than other countries

I saw one of these in JB on the weekend when I was in Aussie - https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tv-home-entertainment/hd-televisions/lg/lg-signature-65-w7-wallpaper-uhd-hdr-smart-oled-tv/422927/

I had to walk out of the store quickly and was pretty sure I was still drooling. Damn it was amazing.

Yeah,i have been keeping track of OLED pricing for a while. The Aussies definitely have them cheaper. And with our dollar almost on par it makes the price differences even crazier. You could pretty much ship one back here..pay gst and still save 1000s. Or use the change and get an Oppo 205 to go with it lol.

I found the Oppo screens to be hard-to-type on. They just aren't accurate enough for speed typing and they also lag behind. I would get something else to go with the OLED. :-)

Its a shame these are running on the older SOC mediatek, i would have thought sony would have grunted up the chip to run android.

The mediatek chip barely runs 4k, otherwise this would be an amazing panel.

People have real issues streaming 4k content to all the 2016 tvs and the same will happen on the current 2017 tvs as well.

heres a great analysis an individual did on the sony range well worth a read!

No issues streaming any 4k on my 2015 Sony with marshmallow. Amazon, Netflix, YouTube. How many hundreds of thousand have no issues?

I also disagree with 90%b of that google doc too.

But whatever floats your boat.
