I believe I have followed all the steps to allow DVBLink Recording Service to use EPG Collector.

I made inactive the DVBLink EPG Guide just to be sure it 'couldn't' be used, but not sure whether EPG Collector is being used or the DVBLink

I haven't used DVBLink for very long and cannot spot a difference.

Checked the log this morning and found this message:

The comment 'Plugin monitor 3 deleted' does not refer to the output file. The file highlighted in the log above is just a temporary file and is deleted before the collection finishes.

From the part of the log you posted the collection does seem to have worked and passed the data to DVBLink. The log lines 'Passing x bytes' and 'Data transfer complete' show that DVBLink has got the data.

Are you sure you can import data into DVBViewer/Recording Service via DVBlink. I thought that DVBLink could only import data into WMC.

Thank you for answering my post.

What has thrown me is that one one hand you say that it has worked and passed the data to DVBLink and then your last paragraph makes no sense to me.

To put it another way, I thought I was using EPG Collector (and following all the steps in the User Guide) to allow DVBLink Viewer / Recording Service to use the EPG Data generated by EPG Collector.

I really appreciate your help (and patience) in my recent three posts.

It has worked in that EPGC has collected the data and passed it in memory to DVBLink. That's the end of the process as far as EPGC is concerned.

DVBLink is then responsible for importing into the media players database.

And I thought that it could only do that with WMC not DVBViewer but you may know more about that than I do.
