Is anyone out there using one of the older Samsung tv's that were sold as "upgradeable" via the Evolution kit?

I have one of the ES8000 2012 series I've been reading in various forums that Samsung have been called out about them not providing the planned 4 years of expansion units.

Some people have gotten a Free replacement 4k UHD from Samsung in exchange for their 2012 model tv.

My understanding was the 2012 series only got 1 evo kit, and that the one released in 2015 was for UHD models only and not compatible?
